Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդիրը Երեւանում հանդիպումների առանցքում էր: Այս մասին հունիսի 29-ին Երեւանում Հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանի հետ համատեղ մամուլի ասուլիսում հայտարարեց Գերմանիայի ԱԳ նախարար, ԵԱՀԿ գործող նախարար Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շթայնմայերը:

Հիշեցնենք, որ նախարարը Հայաստանում է տարածաշրջանային այցի շրջանակում, իսկ Երեւանից մեկնելու է Բաքու եւ Թբիլիսի:

Գերմանացի պաշտոնյան նշեց, որ երկու ամիս է անցել զինված գործողությունների վերսկսումից հետո, որի ընթացքում երկու կողմից էլ զոհեր եղան: «Կողմերի համար՝ ոչ միայն անմիջական մասնակիցների, այլեւ ԵԱՀԿ-ի, ակնհայտ է, որ ստատուս-քվոյի պահպանումն անհնար է: Որքան երկար է ձգվում հակամարտությունը, այնքան մեծանում է սրման հավանականությունը: Հարկավոր է խուսափել դրանից: ԵԱՀԿ-ն ջանքեր է գործադրում, եւ ես, որպես գործող նախագահ, երկարատեւ խաղաղության փնտրտուքների մեջ եմ»,- ասաց Շթայնմայերը:

Նրա խոսքով, միջնորդների ջանքերը եւ Վիեննայում ու Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում կայացած հանդիպումները թուլացրեցին լարվածությունը: «Մենք ճիշտ ուղու վրա ենք»,- նշեց Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շթայնմայերը՝ հավելելով, որ անհրաժեշտ է պահպանել այս միտումը եւ բանակցային գործընթացն ավելի անմիջական դարձնել:
