Աշխարհի առաջին փայտե արբանյակն ուղարկվել է տիեզերք։ Այս մասին գրում Է Reuters-ը: LignoSat արբանյակը, որը մշակվել է Կիոտոյի համալսարանում, միջազգային տիեզերակայան կհասցնի SpaceX ընկերությունը, ինչից հետո այն ուղեծիր դուրս կգա մոտ 400 կմ բարձրության վրա:

LignoSat-ը պատրաստված է մագնոլիայի փայտից, տեղավորվում է ափի մեջ: Սարքը պատված է արևային վահանակներով, ներսում  էլեկտրոնային կառավարման սարքավորումներ են։

Կիոտոյի համալսարանի հետազոտողները նշում են, որ փայտե արբանյակները կթողնեն միայն փոքր քանակությամբ կենսաքայքայվող մոխիր՝ մթնոլորտի համար վնասակար ալյումինի օքսիդների փոխարեն:

«Փայտի շնորհիվ մենք հավերժ կարող ենք տներ կառուցել, ապրել և աշխատել տիեզերքում»,- ասել է Կիոտոյի համալսարանի տիեզերագնաց Տակաո Դոյին:
