Լիբանանի վարչապետ Նաջիբ Միքաթին «Ալ Ջազիրա»-ին ասել է, որ «ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի վարչակազմից երաշխիքներ է ստացել առ այն», որ Բեյրութում և դրա արվարձաններում Իսրայելի հարվածները կքչանան:

«Մենք ցանկանում ենք հրադադար»,- հավելել է Միքաթին։

Իսրայելական լրատվամիջոցները վերջին օրերին հաղորդում էին, որ ԱՄՆ-ի ճնշումը ստիպել է Իսրայելին կրճատել «Հեզբոլլահ» շարժման՝ Լիբանանի մայրաքաղաքում գտնվող թիրախներին հարվածները: Այս տեղեկությունը հերքել են իսրայելցի պաշտոնյաները, որոնք պնդում են, որ Իսրայելը պահպանում է անհրաժեշտության դեպքում իր որոշմամբ գործելու ազատությունը:

Իսրայելը ավելի քան 2 շաբաթ է՝ ցամաքային գործողություն է իրականացնում Լիբանանի հարավում և զուգահեռ օդային հարվածներ հասցնում՝ պնդելով, որ պայքարում է ընդդեմ «Հեզբոլլահ»-ի: Շարժումը, իր հերթին, հրթիռակոծում է Իսրայելի տարածքը:
