Ապրելու երկիր» կուսակցության համահիմնադիր Մեսրոպ Առաքելյանը գրում է․

«Լրացավ մեր նորագույն պատմության ամենաողբերգական դժբախտ պատահարի տարելիցը։

Արցախում տեղի ունեցած բենզինի պահեստի պայթյունից զոհվեցին ավելի քան երկու հարյուր, վնասվածքներ ստացան ավելի քան հարյուր մեր հայրենակիցներ։

Ցավոք, Հայաստանի իշխանությունները որևէ աջակցություն չցուցաբերեցին զոհերի ընտանիքներին։ Ընտանիքներ, որոնք այդ օրերին կորցրեցին ամեն ինչ։

Երկու տարի առաջ Սուրմալուի դժբախտ պատահարի զոհերի ընտանիքները կառավարության կողմից ստացան ֆինանսական աջակցություն։ Տրամաբանական էր, որ նմանատիպ որոշում լիներ նաև այս դեպքում։
