Իրանի Հարավային Խորասան նահանգում 3-օրյա սուգ է հայտարարվել ածխահանքում գազի պայթյունի հետևանքով 52 հանքափորի զոհվելուց հետո, հայտնում է Mehr գործակալությունը:

Հայտնի է, որ Հարավային Խորասանի Թաբաս քաղաքի ածխահանքում մեթան գազի պայթյունը տեղի է ունեցել երեկ երեկոյան տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 21:00-ի սահմանում Madanjo ընկերության հանքավայրում՝ ազդելով երկու բլոկի՝ B և C-ի վրա, որտեղ աշխատում էր 69 մարդ:

Մեկ ժամ առաջ ավարտվել են փրկարարական աշխատանքները B բլոկում, որտեղ աշխատող 47 մարդուց 30-ը զհվել են, 17-ը՝ վիրավորվել։ C բլոկում, որտեղ արգելափակված էր 22 բանվոր, բոլորը մահացել են:

Ածխահանքը գտնվում է գետնի տակ 250 մետր խորության վրա և ունի 700 մետր երկարություն։ 

Թաբասի ածխահանքը, որն ունի ավելի քան 30,000 քառակուսի կիլոմետր տարածք, Իրանի ամենամեծ և ամենահարուստ ածխային շրջանն է:
