Հայաստանի օլիմպիական հավաքականի անդամ, բռնցքամարտիկ Դավիթ Չալոյանը հաղթանակով մեկնարկեց Օլիմպիական խաղերում: 

Փարիզի հյուսիսային արվարձանում գտնվող արենայում կայացած անդրանիկ մենամարտում գերծանր քաշային Դավիթ Չալոյանը մրցեց Եվրոպական խաղերի չեմպիոն, Եվրոպայի առաջնության բրոնզե մեդալակիր Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ներկայացուցիչ Օրի Դելիշեսի հետ: Հայ բռնցքամարտիկը զիջեց առաջին ռաունդում, սակայն հաղթեց հաջորդ երկուսում և գերազանցեց ընդհանուր 3:2 հաշվով:  Հաջորդ մենամարտը Չալոյանը կանցկացնի օգոստոսի 2-ին: 

Մինչ այս Հայաստանի օլիմպիական հավաքականում ելույթներն ավարտել են լողորդ Վարսենիկ Մանուչարյանը և հրաձիգ Էլմիրա Կարապետյանը: Երկուսն էլ չեն հաղթահարել որակավորման փուլի արգելքը:

Մարմնամարզիկներ Արթուր Դավթյանը և Վահագն Դավթյանը դուրս են եկել հենացատկի և օղակների վարժությունների եզրափակիչ, որը կկայանա օգոստոսի 4-ին:
