Եգիպտոսը վերադարձրել է Ռամզես Երկրորդ փարավոնի 3,400-ամյա արձանի գլուխը, որը գողացվել և ապօրինի ճանապարհով երկրից դուրս էր բերվել ավելի քան երեք տասնամյակ առաջ, գրում է  hindustantimes.com-ը:

Այս մասին հայտնել է Եգիպտոսի հնությունների հարցերով նախարարությունը՝ մանրամասնելով, որ 7 մ բարձրությամբ արձանն այժմ գտնվում է Կահիրեի եգիպտական թանգարանում, բայց ցուցադրված չէ:

Արձանի գլուխը գողացվել էր Եգիպտոսի հարավում գտնվող Աբիդոս հնագույն քաղաքի Ռամզես Երկրորդի տաճարից:

Եգիպտոսի իշխանությունները գլուխը հայտնաբերել էին, երբ այն վաճառքի էր հանվել 2013 թվականին Լոնդոնում կայացած ցուցահանդեսում: Ըստ հնությունների նախարարության՝ այն տեղափոխվել է մի քանի այլ երկրներ՝ նախքան Շվեյցարիա հասնելը: Եգիպտոսը համագործակցել է Շվեյցարիայի իշխանությունների հետ՝ հաստատելու իր օրինական սեփականությունը: Անցյալ տարի Շվեյցարիան արձանը հանձնել է Բեռնում Եգիպտոսի դեսպանատանը, սակայն Եգիպտոսը միայն հիմա է կարողացել տուն բերել արձանը:
