 Առհասարակ վիճակագրությունը վկայում է, որ տղաներ ավելի շատ են ծնվում և ուստի նրանց թիվը պետք է գերազանցեր հակառակ սեռին:

Սակայն փաստ է, որ որոշ երկրներում այս վիճակագրությունը «չի գործում» և պատճառը այդ երկրների ներգրավվածություն է շարունակական ռազմական գործողություններին ու նաև՝ արական սեռի ավելի ռիսկային ապրելակերպը:
