«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Թեեւ ապրիլի 1-ին ինչ-որ մեկը չար կատակ էր արել ՕՐՕ դաշինքում, թե Սամվել Բաբայանին ազատ են արձակել, եւ գրասենյակում ծաղիկներով սպասել էին Կամանդույուշչիին, բավականին ուշ գլխի ընկնելով, որ դա սեւ հումոր է, այնուամենայնիվ, կարծում են, որ նրան շուտով բաց կթողնեն։

Գործի քննությանը մոտ կանգնած պաշտոնյաներից մեկը նույնպես ենթադրեց, որ բաց կթողնեն, քանի որ «Բաբայանն իրեն ճիշտ է պահել»․ երբ Սեյրան Օհանյանը հայտարարեց, որ նրա ձերբակալության հիմքում քաղաքական պատճառներ են, փաստաբանը հայտարարեց․«Սամվել Բաբայանն իրեն քաղբանտարկյալ չի համարում»:
