Վազգեն Թևանյանը՝ Զագրեբի մրցաշարի հաղթող

Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն, աշխարհի առաջնության բրոնզե մեդալակիր, աշխարհի անհատական Գավաթի խաղարկության հաղթող, Փարիզի Օլիմպիական խաղերի ուղեգիր նվաճած  Վազգեն Թևանյանը նվաճեց Խորվաթիայի մայրաքաղաք Զագրեբում անցկացվող Ըմբշամարտի միջազգային ֆեդերացիայի վարկանիշային մրցաշարի (ոչ օլիմպիական) հաղթողի կոչումը։

65 կգ քաշային կարգում Վազգեն Թեւանյանի մրցակիցը՝ 2022թ․ աշխարհի չեմպիոն, իրանցի Ռահման Մուսա Ամուզադխալիլին, վնասվածքի պատճառով հրաժարվեց պայքարից:

1/8 եզրափակիչում Թեւանյանը 12:1 հաշվով պարտության էր մատնել Ֆրանսիայի ներկայացուցիչ Խամզատ Արսամերզուեւին, քառորդ եզրափակիչում 5:2 հաշվով հաղթել էր ամերիկացի Ջո ՄաքՔեննային։

Կիսաեզրափակիչում Վազգեն Թեւանյանը 9:1 հաշվով հաղթել էր աշխարհի փոխչեմպիոն, պուերտոռիկացի Սեբաստիան Ռիվերային։

Վազգեն Թեւանյանը Հայաստանի միակ ներկայացուցիչն էր այս մրցաշարում։
