Ամերիկագետ Սուրեն Սարգսյանն իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է․

«ԱՄՆ-ն առավել ուշադիր է սկսում հետևել մարդու իրավունքներին, այդ թվում Հայաստանում։ Վերջերս Բայդենին շատ են քննադատում, որ շեղվել է իր հռչակած սկզբունքից, այն է՝ արտաքին քաղաքականության հիմքում դնել մարդու իրավունքները: Նախընտրական այս փուլում, երբ Բայդենի վարկանիշը անկում է ապրում, նրան մեղադրում են մի շարք երկրների հետ մեղմ լինելու մեջ՝ այդ թվում հենց մարդու իրավունքների մասով:

Վստահ եմ, առաջիկայում նաև Հայաստանն է հայտնվելու խոշորացույցի տակ և Վաշինգտոնը աչք չի փակելու երևույթների վրա, որոնց մասին չէր բարձրաձայնում՝ պայմանավորված աշխարհաքաղաքական շահերի առաջ մղմամբ: Չեմ բացառում, որ առաջիկայում, օրինակ Մալյանին կամ այլ գործիչներին ազատ արձակեն»,- գրել է Սարգսյանը
