Պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենն անցած շաբաթ նախազգուշացրել է օրենսդիրներին, որ իր գրասենյակը դիտարկում է այն հավանականությունը, որ Ադրբեջանը շուտով կարող է ներխուժել Հայաստան․ գրում է Politico թերթը։

Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևն ավելի վաղ կոչ էր արել Հայաստանին «միջանցք» բացել իր հարավային սահմանի երկայնքով։ Ալիևը սպառնացել է հարցը լուծել «ուժային ճանապարհով».

Հոկտեմբերի 3-ին կայացած հեռախոսազրույցում օրենսդիրները ճնշում են գործադրել Բլինքենի վրա Ալիևի դեմ հնարավոր գործողությունների համար՝ ի պատասխան սեպտեմբերին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի տարածաշրջան ներխուժման, հայտնում է աղբյուրը։

Բլինքենը պատասխանել է, որ Պետդեպարտամենտը ձգտում է պատասխանատվության ենթարկել Ադրբեջանին և չի պլանավորում երկարաձգել երկարաժամկետ համաձայնագիրը, որը թույլ է տալիս ԱՄՆ-ին ռազմական օգնություն տրամադրել Բաքվին։ Նա հավելել է, որ պետությունը տեսնում է առաջիկա շաբաթների ընթացքում Ադրբեջանի հարավային Հայաստան ներխուժման հնարավորությունը։
