Երևանի ավագանու գալիք ընտրությունները 2022 թվականին ձևավորված ԿԸՀ ներկայիս կազմի համար մեծությամբ առաջինն են: Հետևաբար, կարևորելով այդ հանգամանքը՝ կառույցն ընտրությունների նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները սկսել է ավելի վաղ, քան դրանք նշանակվել են օրենքով։  

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ այդ մասին հայտնեց ԿԸՀ նախագահ Վահագն Հովակիմյանը՝ ՀՀ-ում հավատարմագրված դիվանագետներին, Հայաստան ժամանած դիտորդներին, տարբեր երկրների ԿԸՀ ներկայացուցիչներին և լրագրողներին ներկայացնելով Երևանի ավագանու ընտրություններին ընդառաջ իրականացված աշխատանքները։

ԿԸՀ-ն ավագանու ընտրությունների նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները սկսել է դեռ տարեսկզբից։ Հովակիմյանը հիշեցրեց, որ ընտրությունների ավտոմատացված համակարգը Հայաստանում գործարկվում է 2007 թվականից։ Ընտրական օրենսգրքով ամրագրված ընտրական գործիքների բոլոր փուլերի լիակատար թափանցիկությունն ու հանրային վերահսկողությունն ապահովելու նպատակով կիրառվող էլեկտրոնային համակարգերը տարեցտարի ավելացել են։
