Ոստիկանության օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոն օգոստոսի 28-ին զանգած օտարերկրացի 24-ամյա մի կին հայտնել էր, որ Մաշտոցի պողոտայում անհայտ անձն իր ուսապարկից բացահայտ հափշտակել է հազար դոլար և դիմել փախուստի:

Ոստիկանությունից հայտնում են, որ հաղորդումը փոխանցվել էր ոստիկանության Կենտրոնական բաժին, որտեղից էլ օպերատիվ խումբը մեկնել էր դեպքի վայր:

Ձեռնարկված միջոցառումների շնորհիվ պարզվել է, որ կողոպուտը կատարել է Արագածոտնի մարզի Աշնակ գյուղի բնակիչ, 29-ամյա մի երիտասարդ:

Նախապատրաստված փաստաթղթերը փոխանցվել են քննչական բաժին:

Կենտրոնականի քրեական հետախույզների հետագա միջոցառումների արդյունքում սեպտեմբերի 7-ին, գիշերվա ժամը երեքին, տղամարդը հայտնաբերվել է մայրաքաղաքի Գրիգոր Լուսավորչի փողոցում, կողոպուտ կատարելու հիմնավոր կասկածով ձերբակալվել և տեղափոխվել է Կենտրոնական բաժին:
