Զգուշացնելով Հայաստանի հարավից Ադրբեջանի և Նախիջևանի միջև Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի ստեղծման մասին, Կովկասի հարցերով փորձագետ Մոհամմադ Իսմայիլ Ալիխանին նշել է, որ «միջանցքի գործարկման դեպքում Հայաստանը կկորցնի հարավի հետ կապը և հայերը պետք է Բաքվից թույլտվություն ստանան Իրան երթուդարձի համար»։

ParsToday-ի փոխանցմամբ, SCAP տրանսպորտային կոմիտեում Իրանի նախկին ներկայացուցիչը Մոհամմադ Իսմայիլ Ալիխանին, խոսելով Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի մասին, ասել է. «Եթե Հայաստանը հարավում, ԻԻՀ հետ սահմանին  Ադրբեջանին տարածք տրամադրի, կդադարի լինել Իրանի հարևանը»:

Նա նշել է. «Իրանն ունի Հայաստանի հետ ամենակարճ ընդհանուր սահմանը (38 կմ): Այն Իրանի և Եվրոպայի միջև հաղորդակցության դարպասներից մեկն է և ունի մեծ նշանակություն։ Այս իրավիճակում, եթե ստեղծվի Զանգզուրի միջանցքը, Հայաստանը կկորցնի իր կապը հարավի հետ, իսկ Իրան մեկնելու համար հայերը պետք է ունենան Ադրբեջանի համաձայնությունը և թույլտվությունը»:
