Բրիտանացի գիտնականները, որոնք զբաղվում են տղամարդկանց ճաղատացման պատճառների ուսումնասիրությամբ, եկել են այն եզրակացության, որ պատճառը մայրական գեներն են:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է Life.ru-ն, այս մասին հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են PLOS Genetic ամսագրում: Ուսումնասիրության արդյունքների համաձայն` տղամարդկային ճաղատության հետ կապված գեների մեծամասնությունը տեղակայված են մայրական Х-քրոմոսումում:

Այս եզրակացությանը մասնագետները հանգել են` հետազոտելով 40-69 տարեկան 52 000 տղամարդկանց կենսաբանական տվյալները: Հենց մայրաքան Х-քրոմոսումում է գտնվում այն գենը, որը կապված է տեստոստերոն հորմոնի արտադրման հետ, որն էլ ճաղատության է հանգեցնում:
