Մայիսի 17-ին Բրազիլիայի խորհրդարանի պատգամավորների պալատում տեղի ունեցավ Բրազիլիա-Հայաստան խորհրդարանական բարեկամության խմբի բացման հանդիսավոր արարողությունը: Խմբի նախագահն է Սան Պաուլոյի դաշնային պատգամավոր Միլտոն Վիեյրան: Խումբը բաղկացած է 33 խորհրդարանականներից:

Խորհրդարանական բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծմամբ նոր լիցք է հաղորդվում երկու երկրների խորհրդարանների միջև համագործակցությանը, ինչպես նաև երկու ժողովուրդների միջև կապերի խորացմանը:

Պատգամավորական բարեկամության խմբի բացման հանդիսավոր արարողությանը ելույթ ունեցավ Բրազիլիայում Հայաստանի դեսպան Արմեն Եգանյանը, ներկա գտնվեց Սան Պաուլոյում Հայաստանի պատվավոր հյուպատոս Հիլդա Տիրուհի Բուրմայանը, Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու Բրազիլիայի թեմի առաջնորդ Նարեկ եպիսկոպոս Բերբերյանը, Սան Պաուլոյի և Ռիո դե Ժանեյրոյի հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչներ:
