Ձերբակալությունը կտևի մինչև նրան մեղադրանք առաջադրելը։ Սպասվում է, որ կես ժամվա ընթացքում Թրամփը կկարողանա լքել դատարանը։

Ավելի վաղ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ Մանհեթենի շրջանային դատախազ Էլվին Բրեգի գրասենյակը ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի դեմ առաջադրված 34 մեղադրանքները վերաորակել է քրեական մեղադրանքների: 

Նշվում է, որ Նյու Յորք նահանգում ձեռնարկատիրական փաստաթղթերի կեղծումը կարող է դիտվել որպես զանցանք։

Yahoo News-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս որոշումը կայացվել է այն պատճառով, որ Սպիտակ տան նախկին ղեկավարի գործողություններն իբր ուղղված են եղել հերթական հանցագործությունը թաքցնելուն։ Հոդվածում պարզաբանվում է, որ E կարգի հանցագործությունները, որոնք ենթադրում են բիզնես փաստաթղթերի կեղծում, կարող են մինչև չորս տարվա ազատազրկում նախատեսել: Սակայն պորտալի աղբյուրը կարծում է, որ գործնական տեսանկյունից այս սցենարը քիչ հավանական է։
