Երկուշաբթի աճուրդային նստաշրջանի ընթացքում բիթքոինն արագացրել է աճը եւ վաճառվում էր 25.06 հազար դոլարով, վկայում են Coindesk պորտալի տվյալները:

Բիթքոինի գինը գտնվում էր 24.88 հազար դոլարի մակարդակում։

Բիթքոինը բլոկչեյն տեխնոլոգիայի վրա հիմնված համանուն կրիպտոարժույթի ապակենտրոնացված համակարգ է, որը կարող է «արդյունահանել» (էմիտացնել) համակարգի անդամ հանդիսացող ցանկացած օգտատեր։ Դա անելու համար պետք է համակարգի նոր բլոկներ ստեղծել։

Համակարգի հայեցակարգը հրապարակվել է 2008 թ. նոյեմբերին Սատոշի Նակամոտո կեղծանվամբ դրա հեղինակի (գուցե՝ հեղինակների թիմի) կողմից։ Բիթքոինի պոպուլյարության գագաթնակետը նշվել է միայն վերջին տարիներին։ Բիթքոնի էմիսիան բնական կերպով սահմանափակված է, այս պահին բիթքոինների մեծ մասն արդեն «արդյունահանված է»։
