Работа американского классика поп-арта Энди Уорхола портрет Мэрилин Монро был продан на аукционе за 195 миллионов долларов. Об это сообщаетмя на сайте аукционного дома Christie's.

Покупателем стал американский арт-дилер армянского происхождения Ларри Гагосян. Все вырученные от продажи средства пойдут на финансирование детского благотворительного фонда.

The Shot Marilyns — шедевр, созданный Энди Уорхолом методом шелкографии в 1964 году. Он состоит из четырех метровых квадратных полотен, на каждом из которых запечатлена американская кинодива. К созданию самого дорогого произведения американского искусства приложила руку художница Дороти Подбер.
