Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցին այսօր նշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Ծննդյան տոնը

Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին այսօր՝ հունվարի 6-ին, նշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Սուրբ Ծննդյան ու Աստվածահայտնության տոնը, որը  Հիսուսի  Սուրբ Ծննդյան եւ մկրտության հիշատակումն է:

Տոնի առիթով Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին երկրորդի հանդիսապետությամբ նախօրեին Սուրբ Գայանե վանքում մատուցվել էր Ճրագալույցի Սուրբ Պատարագ։

Հունվարի 6-ի առավոտյան մատուցվում է Սուրբ Պատարագ, որից հետո` կատարվում է Ջրօրհնեքի կարգ (ըստ ավանդույթի` խաչը ջուրն իջեցնելը խորհրդանշում է Հիսուսի Հորդանան գետը մտնելը): Պատարագիչը խաչով, ապա մյուռոնով օրհնում է ջուրը եւ հավատացյալներն այդ ջրից տուն են տանում, որպես օրհնություն ու բուժիչ դեղ հիվանդների համար: Այնուհետեւ քահանան այցելում է հավատացյալների տներն` ավետելու Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Ծնունդը: Այստեղից էլ առաջացել է Տնօրհնեքի կարգը:

451 թվականին Քաղկեդոնի ժողովը դեկտեմբերի 25-ը սահմանել է Փրկչի Ծննդյան տոն: Եվ այդ ժամանակներից ի վեր միայն Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին է շարունակում հունվարի 6-ին նշել Ծննդյան տոնը:
